Who We Are

Headquartered in San Diego, ACMA was established in 2013 to empower and support filmmakers and change-makers who create impact and positive change within the Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) communities in Southern California through media arts.

As part of its mission, ACMA offer various programs throughout the year, including:

  • Asian Pacific Voices, its award-winning short-form documentary series and its podcast extension, Asian Pacific Voices Radio
  • Take One, a vocational youth media training and internship program
  • E4Women and MediActivism webinars
  • APCC online business directory website for AANHPI businesses

Through these programs, we aim to bring a voice of unity, awareness, and empowerment for everyone in our community.

Stand Against Hatred

This is a PSA video against hatred in the United States produced in collaboration with Asian Culture and Media Alliance (ACMA) and Asian Americans Advancing Justice (Advancing Justice) featuring community activists and leaders of Asian American and multicultural civil rights organizations including The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) and NAACP.

Voices of Change

Asian Culture & Media Alliance is in the process of producing a documentary film to bring awareness to the significant rise in acts of hate and discrimination toward Asian Americans that began in 2020.  To achieve this, we hope to provide first hand-accounts, an exploration of systemic racism, and a closer look the role of the COVID-19 pandemic in relation to hate incidents against Asian Americans.

Stand Against Injustice

Georgia signed legislation that would make it illegal to provide food, water, or any “gifts” to voters waiting in line. Help spread awareness about the injustices that are blatantly affecting our communities and our neighbors—enacted by those in positions of power. #StandAgainstInjustice
