Asian Culture and Media Alliance (ACMA) to Illuminate Spark Studio at Encore Event Center with 10th Anniversary Gala, Celebrating “Strength in Diversity”

San Diego, CA – December 1, 2023

The Asian Culture and Media Alliance (ACMA), a pioneering force in delivering media arts programs and cultural events for the Asian-Pacific American communities in Southern California, is set to host a spectacular evening of celebration and recognition at Encore Event Center’s Spark Studio on December 3rd, 2023, as it commemorates its remarkable 10-year journey.

Themed “Strength in Diversity,” this year’s gala is a testament to ACMA’s steadfast commitment to fostering unity and celebrating the diverse tapestry of Asian-Pacific American cultures. Founded by visionary media personality Cathlyn Choi, the gala promises a captivating fusion of art, culture, and media, spotlighting individuals and organizations contributing to their respective industries.

Cathlyn Choi, the Executive Director of ACMA and producer of the Asian Pacific Voices TV and Radio Podcast series, expressed her excitement about the upcoming event: “As we celebrate a decade of promoting cultural richness and media arts, we’re thrilled to recognize and honor the outstanding achievements of 12 remarkable individuals. The theme ‘Strength in Diversity’ reflects our core values, and we are proud to spotlight those who have made a difference in promoting diversity and inclusivity in our community.”

Hosted by ACMA’s media advisory board member and Asian Pacific Voices Radio host, Rasha Goel, the gala will bring together influential figures, industry leaders, and passionate advocates for a night of inspiration, networking, and entertainment.

This year’s distinguished award recipients include:

  • Civil rights leader and LGBTQ rights advocate Cecilia Chung, Community Empowerment Award.
  • Community leader and philanthropist Sally Wong-Avery, Humanitarian Award.
  • Mongolian American producer and actress Alexa Khan, Film Media Arts Award.
  • Composer, pianist, and producer Keiko Matsui, Performing Arts Award.
  • Community leader and youth advocate Dante Dauz, Community Service Award.
  • The House of Pacific Relations International Cottages, Community Outreach Award.
  • Heiva San Diego, Naad Studios, and PASACAT, Cultural Awareness Awards

Additional awards will honor David Kreider, Ryan Stanly, and Eric Michelson with the Exemplary Ally Award, Exemplary Service Award, and Ten Years of Commitment and Dedicated Service Award, respectively.
